Socials

The squash club prides itself on making sure players have a great time off the court as well as on it. Newcastle's nightlife is renowned the world over and our social secretaries organise a range of themed and informal nights out throughout the year to help you make the most of it.

However, If you're not into clubbing then don't worry, the club organises a range of other activities including racketball, netball, rounders, park runs, beach days, trips to the comedy club and hikes in the countryside to name just a few..

Activities and Nightlife

One of our key aims is to make sure all of our members know that the squash club is a safe and supportive environment in which they can express themselves. Training and competing as a team is the best way to enjoy squash and we make sure all of our members get to experience this. Lots of our players end up living together in second and third years, making life-long friends and keeping in touch on a yearly basis as alumni

'I definitely made the right decision joining the University Squash Club when I started studying Film & Media at Newcastle in 2016. It played a massive part of my university experience. Squash gave me the opportunity to meet lots of people and make friends with the many social nights, to travel around the country representing Newcastle by competing against other universities, and allowed me to take a break from studying which I believe was very beneficial. Being involved with the Squash Club gave me access to top quality coaching and S&C, both of which greatly improved my game and allowed me to compete at a good level, one that I continue to play at today.'
