Competitive Opportunities
There is a long history and fierce rivalry between Newcastle University and Northumbria University in the annual Stan Calvert Varsity Cup. Newcastle are the current holders after a win in 2022 with both our men's and women's squash teams winning their respective fixtures. Although it's a fierce rivalry it's also a friendly one and we usually end up at the pub for a few beers afterwards!

Newcastle PSL Team
In a joint venture with the Northumberland Club in Jesmond, Newcastle University helped resurrect the Newcastle PSL team for two years before covid-19 hit. Two of our strongest students were given opportunities in the team playing alongside the likes of Mazen Hesham and Alex Fuller. Newcastle PSL Team can't wait to get started again in 2022/23.
Newcastle hosts two annual PSA competitions, the Northumbria Open and the Gosforth Classic. Both are based at clubs within 15 minutes of Newcastle University, have graded events and in the past have attracted the likes of George Parker, Richie Fallows, Lucy Beecroft.

Alumni Festival
Our Alumni Festival is a competitive but fun fixture in which our current student teams take on our very best alumni who travel back from all corners of the UK. It's important to us that we keep in touch with our former students and they're always welcome to come back and train with our current squads.
Club Championships
Newcastle University Squash Club runs its annual club championships during term 3 when the BUCS sporting calendar has mostly concluded. Open to all squad members the competition is delivered in a monrad format meaning plenty of matches, win or lose!
