Recent National Champion Joe Clark joins the rapidly improving table tennis program at Newcastle University
Recent National Junior Champion Joe Clark from Billingham has chosen to join Newcastle University to continue his education and become a part of the table tennis program ran by head coach Graeme Barella.
At the recent Junior National Championships second seeded Joe beat fourth seed James Smith 4-2 in the final to take his first gold medal.
“It’s my first singles national title, definitely the highlight of my career, and it's good to do it in my last ever junior tournament domestically. I played well and did everything I needed to do."
The plaudits didn't finish there though with Joe going on to take another gold medal with doubles partner Shayan Siraj
