Newcastle's top men's team lead the Northern 2B Division in BUCS after an impressive start to the season
After plenty of hard work in pre-season the tennis program at Newcastle University is showing results with the Men's 1st team topping their league in BUCS. The current 1st team featuring men's captain Corey Chan, Juergen Springer, Alex Wilson and Alex Dodds have won all their matches so far beating two Leeds Met teams along the way who were league favourites.
The team has been helped by healthy competition within the tennis squad for places and a more extensive training program put in place by head coach John Henderson. Not only will the men's 1st team be gunning for glory in the league, they are also top seeds to win the Northern Conference Cup facing Leeds 2nd team in the quarter-finals next on the 13th March.
